This is a close up shot of the shower head looking up. Throughout this scene it flicks back to this shot to add dramatic tension and confusing.
The water seems to pass the camera as it is looks up towards the shower head. It uses the digetic sounds of the shower to dull the mood and make it very unsuspecting and is the only noise you hear at this point. The lighting is very dull and doesn’t focus our attention to anything in this shot. The shower shows that she is very unaware of what’s going on as she is relaxed and doing what any other normal person would do. The angle and placement of the shot shows claustrophobia as it is confined within the water giving the impression of being trapped.

This shot shows just before the attack where you can see faintly in background the killer.
The shower curtain blurs the image of the killer therefore making it more dramatic and mysterious. The shot pans out to the left then slowly zooming in towards the shower curtain. The diagetic sound of the shower masks the killer entrance therefore making it more dramatic. The woman comes across very unaware and innocent as her back is turned and the camera shot is over the shoulder.

This shot is very typical shot of a thriller genre movie as it is very dramatic and mysterious. This shot is close a close up shot of the killer. The lighting source is based above and behind therefore casting a shadow and hiding the identity of the killer. The water also hides the identity of the killer as it is blurs the face. The rule of thirds applies to this shot as it focuses our attention to the knife and killer. This shot also creates the impression of being inferior as it is slightly tilting upwards making the killer look bigger and more dominant
This shot is a close up/extreme close up of the knife. The lighting in this shot highlights the knife very strongly and making it stand out. The camera angle is once again making the audience feel inferior as it is looking up to the knife as like the victims point of view.

This shot is an eye level close up showing the woman dieing. The lighting is fairly strong in this shot. The meaning of this shot is to show her on her last legs and her grasping at the shower curtain for help. The hand in the air and the blood above the shoulder makes this shot very dramatic. This shot also shows lots of distress as she slides down the wall slowly and grasping her hand out for help.
